Shakespeare in the Theatre by William Poel is a collection of four articles on the staging of Shakespeare's plays. Poel was an actor, director and author who founded the Elizabethan Stage Society to promote his belief that only a return to Elizabethan performance methods would enable a true understanding of Shakespeare's works.
