G. W. Friedrich Hegel

Autor

(Stuttgart, 27 de agosto de 1770-Berlín, 14 de noviembre de 1831). Estudió Filosofía y Teología en Tubinga, donde tuvo como compañeros a  Friedrich Schelling y al poeta  Friedrich Hölderlin. Se dedicó a la enseñanza privada durante varios años y fue docente en Jena en 1791 y rector del Gimnasio de Núremberg en 1809. Posteriormente pasó a dictar cátedra en la Universidad de Heidelberg en 1816 y en la de Berlín en 1818, en el cenit de su carrera. La filosofía de Hegel se plantea como superación del escepticismo de Kant y rebrote de la Metafísica como ciencia, que la Crítica de la razón pura había desautorizado. Su sistema es, en rigor, parte del racionalismo. Sus obras más importantes son: Fenomenología del Espíritu (1807), Ciencia de la Lógica (2 vols., 1812, 1816), Enciclopedia de las ciencias filosóficas (1817) y Fundamentos de la Filosofía del Derecho (1821).
