Nelson Mandela Transkei (Sudáfrica), 1918 En 1944 se afilió al Congreso Nacional Africano y estuvo comprometido con la resistencia contra las políticas de apartheid del gobernante Partido Nacional durante muchos años hasta que fue arrestado en agosto de 1962.
