Autor

(París, 1821-1867). Es el más universal de los poetas simbolistas franceses. Considerado el mayor estereotipo de poeta maldito por su vida bohemia y sus excesos, su obra literaria constituye una de las cimas de la lírica de todos los tiempos. Autor de libros inmortales como Las flores del mal El Spleen de París, murió de sífilis después de haber sufrido la ruina, el desprecio y hasta la humillación pública. Baudelaire admiró sobre todo a Edgar Allan Poe, a quien introdujo en Europa gracias a sus traducciones. Pauvre Belgique es el libro en el que trabajaba cuando quedó incapacitado por su enfermedad. Es también el más delirante y arriesgado de sus proyectos.
