The main aim of this book is to provide students with a basic but comprehensive overview of the field of second language acquisition and foreign language teaching. The vast majority of students in the English Studies programme aspire to become part of the teaching profession, so this volume offers them the opportunity to reflect on some of the important factors in the way language is acquired, learned and taught. This book has been written so that it can be used on its own, but they have also provided other online activities which can be used to complement this volume (in particular the teaching unit focusing on preparing a lesson plan), but can also be used as material for other subjects with similar syllabuses.
