Nine short stories of crime and horror
Stories in which crimes and horrors are simply the beginning —or the end— of haunting events. Whether plain human malice or paranormal circumstances, they all show up in turn to reveal each character's innermost fears or to unleash their unspeakable desires. While the circumstances vary, they share something in common: they must go through living nightmares to discover what they would do to fight, escape, or deal with the consequences. Nine short stories set in different situations, connected by deep psychological terror. By exploring themes such as grief, remorse, anxiety, redemption, solitude, greed, pressure, and self-sabotage, they cover everyday issues, using graphic crimes and horrors as triggers. But these are not regular crime-and-police stories. You don't need to figure out who the perpetrator is in each case. The who and the how is are exposed. What truly matters here is how you, the reader, interpret all that after reading, and what messages are conveyed to you. You will witness the excruciating experiences that the characters must go through. From that, a mood will emerge, one that will stay with you long after you close this book. The door is now open, and the invitation has been extended. "Nine Short Stories of Crime and Horror" is the author's first collection of short stories written originally in English. They began as a literary exercise, but they evolved into the texts included here.
