An expedition into a warm land beyond the arctic ice, told with the geology and the instruments taken seriously. Gratacap was a museum curator by profession and his romances read like field reports from places that do not exist. This edition is bound with 45 plates of painting by William Bradford, Ethel Morgan, John Nicholson and others, alongside 15 illustrations restored and coloured for this volume.
